I remember when I heard Pat Tillman was leaving the NFL to enlist in the U.S. Army. I also remember how sad it was to learn of Tillman's death while he was serving in Afghanistan.
Now there is a movie that should help us all understand a little better what happened following his death on a hillside in 2004. It was then that the Bush Administration and military leaders tried to use his death as war support propaganda.
Watch the trailer and you'll see the government screwed with the wrong family. His mother, Dannie, didn't believe the story she was being fed, which finally led to the Army's admission that her son was killed by friendly fire.
I don't go to many movies these days, but I can't wait to see the documentary "The Tillman Story," which is scheduled for release on Aug. 20.
