Former Michigan players are coming out of the woodwork this week to let their alma mater know that current UM coach Rich Rodriguez isn't on their Christmas card list.
Dhani Jones, a former Wolverine linebacker and a current guy with a TV show on a network you've never heard of, doesn't care for Rodriguez.
"I'm not cool with him," Jones, a member of UM's 1997 national title team, said of Rodriguez. "I'm at my wits end right now. I mean, you can't come in and explain that you're going to do all this, and then your first year? Terrible. Second year? Alright -- but then terrible. You have to be able to change something if you're really going to make a statement. You have to do it within the first two years, and this is his third."
As if that wasn't hurtful enough (sniff!) former UM receiver Amani Toomer, who does not have a TV show (at least one that I've heard of.) offered the exact same talking points.
If these guys, along with the other legions of UM fans who want RR out aren't careful, they're going to make him seem like a sympathetic figure. Then when he wins seven games this year, he'll get another year and another and another. I can dream, can't I?
